Av. Vannikov et al., RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE SURFACE-POTENTIA L AND 2ND-HARMONIC GENERATION IN DOPED POLYVINYLACETATE, Vysokomolekularnye soedinenia. Seria A, 39(6), 1997, pp. 1038-1042
The intensity of the second-harmonic emission, generated by a laser be
am passing through a corona-discharge- polarized film of polyvinylacet
ate doped with 4-(dimethyla,mino)-4'-nitrostilbene, was studied as a f
unction of the temperature, time, degree of the free volume relaxation
, and surface potential. It is established that the second harmonic in
tensity decay kinetics is controlled by a decrease in the surface pote
ntial with time. Relaxation of the free volume of the polymer modifies
the kinetics of the surface potential, thus also affecting the second
-harmonic emission intensity.
