The temperature dependences of electric properties of conducting compo
sites (rho less than or similar to 10(3) Omega m) based on PE and carb
on black, having positive temperature coefficient of resistance, were
studied. When plotted in the Ahrrenius coordinates, the dependences ar
e described by several strait lines with inflections. The current-volt
age curves of these composites show a similar behavior. The temperatur
e dependences change dramatically upon irradiation of the composites,
variation of the temperature protocol of the tests, and mechanical com
pression of the samples. The data obtained led to several conclusions
concerning the mechanism of conduction of the composite materials stud
ied.
