Abstract
Recently, there has been a burgeoning interest in the use of image-guided n avigation to improve the safety and effectiveness of neurosurgical procedur es. The intraoperative use of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) provides the most accurate guidance available. This report discusses the hardware and s oftware improvements that have made intraoperative AM a reality and describ es the use of this technology for neurosurgical intraoperative guidance.
