New experimental results in physics of liquids

The purpose of the present work is to highlight a number of recent experime ntal results that have contributed significantly to the broad area of resea rch under the general heading liquids. Firstly we will be dealing with the long-standing issue of sound propagation in liquid water and with the struc tural and dynamical properties of interfacial and confined water. Next we w ill discuss experimental advances concerning the debated question of Boson peak. Finally we will focus on some experimental evidences of coupling mode l and on the puzzling case of PEO aggregation in water. (C) 2001 Elsevier S cience B.V. All rights reserved.
