G. Perrin, On the use of Anderson-Gruneisen parameters in calculation of the temperature derivative of elastic moduli for cubic polycrystals, J PHYS CH S, 62(11), 2001, pp. 2091-2094
For an isotropic aggregate of cubic crystals under hydrostatic pressure, po
lycrystalline Anderson-Gruneisen parameters are defined. A simplified model
is developed for determining their pressure dependence in terms of the iso
tropic elastic constants up to the fourth-order. Theoretical values of thes
e parameters at zero pressure and room temperature are then obtained for po
lycrystalline noble metals (Cu, Ag, Au) by means of the extension of the Vo
igt- Reuss- Hill approximation to the third-order elastic constants. Finall
y, the results are used to calculate the temperature derivatives of the bul
k, shear and young moduli, and of the Poisson ratio of the three investigat
ed metals. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
