Da. Bertram, A PILOT-STUDY TO ESTIMATE THE COST OF A TELEPHONE SURVEY OF RARE POPULATIONS - AFRICAN-AMERICANS AND PERSONS WITH ANGINA, Evaluation review, 18(6), 1994, pp. 718-729
Existing studies do not explain important differences in the utilizati
on of health care services between African Americans and Whites with c
oronary heart disease. Further advancement in understanding access to
care differences may be obtained from a community survey. Such a surve
y can be expensive because of the relative rarity of the populations o
f interest. This pilot study provided estimates useful for calculating
the level of effort required to conduct a telephone survey on access
to care for persons with angina, an important presenting symptom for c
oronary heart disease.
