Abstract
The synthesis. characterisation and photophysical properties of a series of new rhenium(1) polypyridine complexes, [Re(N-N)(CO)(3)(py-3-NCS)](+), are reported; the isothiocyanate moiety enables these complexes to react with p rimary amine groups of modified oligonucleotides and proteins.
