Abstract
The discrete four-sublattice model previously proposed for reproducing the lattice instabilities in A(2)BX(4)-type crystals is reduced to a two-sublat tice model. Eigenfrequencies and the associated cigenvectors of the, dynami cal matrix are given analytically for general k values. The conditions on t he interaction parameters for the appearance of incommensurate phase transi tions are clarified.
