Abstract
Different techniques have been investigated to seek the best procedure to r eveal the prior-austenite grain boundaries in three medium-carbon microallo yed steels. This study has been carried out over a wide range of temperatur es (950-1250 degreesC) and it has been found that thermal etching (TE) is t he best technique to reveal the prior-austenite grain boundaries in these s teels.
