Abstract
The frequency-selective property of an array of rectangular dipole microstr ip patches resonant at dual frequencies (within the same frequency band) ha s been investigated experimentally. Measured data indicate a 40 dB separati on between the transmission and reflection bands of the frequency-selective surface (FSS) in the normalized transmitted electric field versus frequenc y plot. Experimental investigation of the FSS of an an-ay of rectangular di pole microstrip patches resonant at a single frequency shows that the bandw idth of the reflection band is very narrow. In our present investigation, r esonance at dual frequencies within the same frequency band has been used t o broaden the bandwidth of the reflection band. (C) 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
