We calculate the free energy and entropy of the Dirac field in terms of the
brick-wail method by faithfully following the definition of the Reissner-N
ordstrom black hole. We obtain the conclusion that the entropy of the Dirac
field is proportional to the area of the horizon of a black hole. Besides;
we show that on the background of the Reissner-Nordstrom black hole the en
tropy of the Dirac field is 7/2 times as large as the entropy of the Klein-
Gordon field.
