P. Bencteux et al., Symptomatic palmaris longus muscle variation with MRI and surgical correlation: report of a single case, SUR RAD AN, 23(4), 2001, pp. 273-275
A young woman presented with a painful soft tissue swelling of the anterior
aspect of the distal forearm. MRI revealed a hypertrophied reversed palmar
is longus muscle confirmed by surgery, which also showed a second insertion
to the flexor carpi radialis tendon. Variants of the palmaris longus muscl
e are discussed.
