Chabaudus leberrei (Bain & Philippon, 1969) is redescribed from the pipid a
nurans Xenopus muelleri (Peters) and X. laevis laevis (Daudin) (new host re
cords) in northern Swaziland, based on light and scanning electron microsco
pe studies. The six anterior protuberances characteristic of the genus Chab
audus Inglis & Ogden, 1965, are, in C. leberrei, formed by bipartite lamell
ae associated with the internal margins of the three lips. Intraspecific va
riation in the number and disposition of male caudal papillae and in the de
velopment of the cephalic vesicle is documented.
