External cavity diode lasers for gas analytics

The application of lasers in industrial gas analytics requires cost effecti ve, compact and robust light sources with excellent spectral characteristic s. In this contribution such systems are described which use near-infrared laser diodes in Littrow and Littman configurations. The tuning units were r ealised by using solid state arrangements and new semi-monolithic set-ups.
