Acetylation and formylation reactions of alcohols with ethyl acetate, aceti c acid and ethyl formate were catalyzed with potassium dodecatungstocobalta te trihydrate (K5CoW12O40.3H(2)O) in a mild, efficient and convenient metho d with high to excellent yields.
