Abstract
Canine atopic dermatitis is commonly diagnosed in pruritic animals. Many st udies have attempted to determine the inheritance pattern of both atopic de rmatitis and of elevated allergen-specific IgE production. Despite many cli nical, laboratory and breeding studies, the mode of inheritance and genetic mutations underlying this disease currently remain elusive. (C) 2001 Elsev ier Science B.V.
