Rare - earth perchlorate - glycine complex (Sm-2 (Gly)(6) (H2O)(4)] (ClO4)(
6) . 5H(2)O was synthesized and obtained as single crystals. By using TG, D
TA and chemical analytic method, and comparing with relavent literature, it
s single crystal structure was established. The purity was found to be 99.0
%, with no distinct melting point. Heat capacity measurement of this compou
nd was carried out on a high - precise fully automated adiabatic calorimete
r over the temperature range from 79 to 370 K. No obvious thermal anomaly w
as observed. Thermal decomposition temperature range of this compound is ne
ar 348.07 K, its decomposition temperature, decomposition enthalpy and entr
opy are 346.89 K, 44.669 kJ/mol and 128.77 J/K . mol, respectively. The pol
ynomial equation of heat capacity of this compound has be fitted as : C-p =
1294.56 + 624.17X - 11.893 X-2 +75.075 X-3 + 23.762X(4) in the temperature
range of 79 similar to 318 K. The standard enthalpy of formation was measu
red to be - 8022.405 kJ/mol with isoperable reaction calorimeter at 298.15
K.
