The crystal structure of the title compound, [Ni-2(C2O4)-(C4H13N3)(2)(H2O)(
2)](NO3)(2), consists of uncoordinated nitrate anions and dimeric cations,
where the oxalate ligand is coordinated in a bis-bidentate fashion to centr
osymmetrically related Ni II atoms. The distorted octahedral environment of
each Ni-II atom is completed by the three N atoms of the diethylenetriamin
e ligand in a fac arrangement and one water O atom. Variable-temperature ma
gnetic susceptibility measurements reveal a moderate intramolecular antifer
romagnetic coupling.
