The bicylic system in the title compound, C12H11FO3, is effectively planar, with the methylcarboxylic acid residue being located above and perpendicul ar to this portion of the molecule. The crystal structure is stabilized via a network of hydrogen-bonding and C-H . . . pi interactions.
