The crystal structure of the title compound, C12H16O2, contains two crystal
lographically independent molecules in the asymmetric unit. The cyclohexane
rings of these two molecules adopt chair conformations with the hydroxyl g
roups and benzene rings equatorially attached. The crystal structure is sta
bilized by O-H . . .O hydrogen bonds and weak C-H . . . pi interactions inv
olving the phenyl rings.
