Abstract
The title compound, C20H16O7, is an intermediate in the total synthesis of
(+/-)-asarinin. The molecular structure contains four chiral centres and cr
ystallizes as two independent molecules. The chirality of the two molecules
is the same, but they adopt different conformations. The compound is enant
iomeric, with the second enantiomer arising from the centrosymmetric nature
of the space group.
