Abstract
The absolute configuration of the asymmetric centre (8S) formed during Pd-I I-catalyzed oxycarbonylation was established by X-ray analysis of the title compound (alternatively 3,6-anhydro-2-deoxy-D-lyxo-1,5-hexonolactone), C13 H14O4.
