Abstract
The novel title compound, [Re(C26H20N2)(C2H3N)(CO)(3)](PF6), has been synth esized and found to crystallize in the monoclinic system with space group P 2(1)/n. The molecular ionic structure consists of an Re-I complex cation an d a PF6- anion, where the Re atom is octahedrally coordinated by chelating dimethyldiphenylphenanthroline, three carbonyl groups and acetonitrile.
