The title compound, C10H8ClNO, crystallizes in the centrosymmetric space gr oup C2/c. The compound exists in the keto form in the crystalline state. Th e heterocyclic ring is not aromatic. The N atom is sp(2) hybridized. The st ructure is stabilized by N-H . . .O intermolecular hydrogen bonds.
