Abstract
The crystal structure of the title compound, 5,3'-dihydroxy-6,7,4'-trimetho xyflavone, C18H16O7, isolated from Ballota limbata Linn., contains discrete molecules with normal molecular dimensions. The structure is stabilized by intramolecular and intermolecular hydrogen bonds between hydroxyl H atoms and carbonyl O atoms, with O . . .O interactions of 2.594 (2) and 2.673 (2) Angstrom. The flavone moiety is essentially planar with methoxy methyl gro ups lying 0.169 (3)-0.851 (2) Angstrom out of the plane.
