Abstract
The title compound, C17H18FeO3 or [Fe(C5H5)(C12H13O3)], has the cyclopentad ienyl rings essentially eclipsed and nearly parallel, forming a 2.5 (2)degr ees dihedral angle. The Fe atom lies 1.6388 (8) Angstrom out of the plane o f the substituted ring and 1.6472 (9) Angstrom out of the unsubstituted rin g plane. The torsion angle about the central CDC bond of the 4-oxobutanoate group is - 79.7 (2)degrees, and the O-C-C=CH2 torsion angle is 131.0 (2)de grees.
