The structure of the title compound, C17H11N3O2, (I), comprises twisted mol ecules that associate via a single N-H . . .O intermolecular interaction, f orming a linear one-dimensional hydrogen-bonded chain. The dihedral angle b etween the two ring systems is 89.9 (1)degrees.
