Abstract
The structure of the title compound, C3H6IN3S2, comprises a puckered ring t hat associates to the I- anion via N-H . . .I interactions. In the asymmetr ic unit, two I- anions reside on special positions (twofold rotation axes) equivalent to one complete anion per cation. The cationic charge is delocal ized between the two amines, as suggested by the similar bond lengths, acro ss the heterocyclic N atom, between these two groups.
