Abstract
Based on the disease activity score, current indications for orbital decomp ression are described. After that, all contemporary decompression technique s are mentioned and their advantages and disadvantages are described. Trans palpebral fat resection is also included. Results (reduction of proptosis, complications) are presented for the coronal and transconjunctival (swingin g eyelid and transcaruncular orbitotomy) approach used by the author and di scussed in comparison with other methods.
