Abstract
In a study of 1,935 early survivors of acute myocardial infarction, we foun d that age modifies the relation of sex with long-term survival. Mortality rates are higher among women aged <50 years, similar among men and women be tween ages 50 and 69, and higher among men aged <greater than or equal to>7 0.
