Abstract
In patients with acute myocardial infarction, plasma levels of macrophage m igration inhibitory factor, a pro-inflammatory cytokine, were increased 4.7 -fold compared with these levels in control subjects. This was not seen in patients with stable angina, unstable angina, or after patients underwent u ncomplicated coronary angioplasty.
