Abstract
The development of rapid tests for the post mortem diagnosis of bovine spon giform encephalopathy made possible to extend the detection to bovine carca sses older than 30 months in slaughterhouses. This article reviews the rapi d immunological tests and the measures enforced in Belgium to improve the c ontrol.
