Abstract
The determination of several trace elements, including calcium, chromium, c opper, iron, lead, magnesium, silver, and zinc in an extremely volatile mat rix was performed by ICP-OES. Tricloro-trifluoroethane was used as the prim ary solvent due to its similarity to the inhaled anesthetic agents, with hi gh volatility and low combustibility. The parameters discussed allowed for a correlation coefficient of each calibration curve for the elements. deter mined to be within the range of 0.99-1.0. Good recovery of spiked samples w as obtained, allowing for the determination of elements within a volatile m atrix.
