Capillary electrophoresis is a microvolume separation technique increasingl
y achieving recognition for use in the separation and determination of pest
icides due to its relatively short analysis time, and nanoliter to picolite
r sample volumes. Capillary electrophoresis is attracting considerable atte
ntion from many laboratories due to its simplicity. This overview discusses
the applications of capillary electrophoresis for trace detection and dete
rmination of pesticides in pesticide formulations, environmental samples, a
nd for chiral separations. The basic principles and improvements and their
application in terms of increasing detection limits are discussed in this o
verview.
