Abstract
In this paper we present an evolutionary approach to the emergence of the r epresentation of style in design. We explore issues involved in the interpr etation of style, the emergence of the representation of style, and a compu tational process for emerging the representation of style. An evolutionary process model based on genetic engineering for style representation emergen ce is developed and demonstrated. Examples from its computational implement ation are presented.
