Relationship patterns in dreams and in narratives in a psychoanalysis

On the basis of transcribed sessions of a psychoanalytic longterm psychothe rapy of a patient with an anxiety neurosis the Core Conflictual Relationshi p Theme method is used. Differences between relationship episodes in dreams and narratives in the dream session are demonstrated. Relationship pattern s in dream episodes reveal wishes more explicitly and the most frequent res ponses are characterised by wish fulfilment and satisfying relationship exp eriences, while in narratives objects are distant and reluctant and the pat ient feels anxious and nervous.
