Abstract
This paper describes phase noise analysis of the double-conversion heterody ne TV tuner system for 8VSB digital terrestrial broadcasting. It is propose d an accurate simulation model of the phase noise of the PLL-based frequenc y synthesizers. Using the proposed model, we evaluate the performance of th e digital TV receiver system in terms of symbol error rate in conjunction w ith the matched filter and the frequency-and-phase locked loop.
