Pc. Tseng et al., CDSP: An application-specific digital signal processor for third generation wireless communications, IEEE CONS E, 47(3), 2001, pp. 672-677
In this paper, we present an application-specific Digital Signal Processor
(DSP) for third generation wireless communications. The processor architect
ure and instruction set of proposed DSP are specially designed for the WCDM
A system, where the Viterbi decoding and complex arithmetic are enhanced. T
hese key features make the proposed DSP consume much lower processor MIPS a
nd therefore outperform prior arts in terms of several crucial operations o
f wireless applications. A prototyping chip has been implemented by using c
ell-based design approach under TSMC 0.35um CMOS 1P4M technology. At 3.3V s
upply voltage, it can operate up to 40 MHz.
