Abstract
Adsorption from aqueous solutions of p-nitrophenol and p-chlorophenol on ac tivated carbon regenerated by wet oxidation after saturation of the same ad sorptive has been studied. The adsorption behaviors have been analyzed with the help of a scheme of double Langmuir, which gives information of the in duced modifications on different parts of the surface by the regeneration t reatment. Also, differences in the adsorption uptake and free energy have b een obtained depending on the adsorptive and on the temperature at which we t oxidation was done. From the point of view of a higher uptake capacity af ter regeneration it has been found that 170 degreesC is the best suited tem perature for wet oxidation. (C) 2001 Academic Press.
