Abstract
Polarization labelling spectroscopy of the B(1)Pi <-- X(1)Sigma (+) and C(1 )Sigma (+) <-- X(1)Sigma (+) hand systems in KLi reveals strong mutual pert urbation of the B and C states. We show that both excited states can be des cribed in a model comprising numerical IPA potentials for the unperturbed s tates and only 3 parameters to describe their interaction. Our approach all ows to identify many previously unassigned spectral lines having significan t deviation from the "regular" positions. (C) 2001 Academic Press.
