The complexes [Co-2(4,4 ' azpy)(5)(H-2)O)(6)][ClO4](4)(.)(H2O)(10)(.)(4,4 '
-azpy)4, (1) and {[Co(3,3 ' -azpy)(H2O)(4)][ClO4](2)(.)[3,3 ' -azpy](3)} (
2) (4,4 ' -azpy=4,4'-azobispyridine, 3,3'-azpy=3,3'-azobispyridine) have be
en synthesized and the structures have been determined. Two-dimensional net
works with rectangle channels ca 27.5 Angstrom x 14.2 Angstrom are construc
ted by [Co-2(4,4 ' -azpy)(5)(H2O)(6)](4+) cations through extensive hydroge
n-bonding and pi-pi interaction in compound 1. The compound 2 consists of a
