Abstract
Monolayer and multilayer Langinuir-Blodgett (LB) films of the endohedral me tallofullerene Dy@C-82 mixed with arachidic acid (Dy@C-82/AA) were deposite d onto ITO substrates from the N-2/water interface. The photoelectrochemica l response of the Dy@C-82/AA LB films on ITO was investigated. A stable ano dic photocurrent was observed, and the effects of bias voltage, light inten sity, electron donor, number of layers, and O-2 were studied in detail. The results indicate that electrons flow from th e electrolyte through the LB film to the ITO electrode. Dy@C-82/AA and C-60/AA films are compared in ter ms of the film formation and photoelectric response. Under appropriate cond itions, the Dy@C-82/AA LB films exhibit a higher photocurrent quantum yield than the C-60/AA films on ITO electrodes.
