Experiments on coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) in a Raman-pre-
excited samarium vapor are interpreted in terms of universal three-bit logi
c gates of reversible computations. Two-photon saturation and subsequent CA
RS probing of a Raman-active transition are shown to allow a three-bit Toff
oli logic gate to be constructed, thus opening the way for reversible compu
ting.
