The concept of a second generation Hall-current plasma accelerator (AT
ON-thruster), which has record performance characteristics, is describ
ed. A method is proposed for analyzing the operation parameters of the
accelerator on the basis of its performance characteristics. The resu
lts of measurements of plasma parameters in the accelerator channel an
d outflowing jet are presented. Attention is given to determining the
share of doubly ionized ions in the flow.
