Abstract
A new series of Ag+ ion-specific tridentate pyridine podands was prepa red, in which two chiral centers were introduced close to the Ag+ ion- binding sites. Since there are marked differences in Ag+ ion-extractio n abilities among certain stereoisomers, the stereocontrolled substitu tion enhanced Ag+ ion-binding ability of the tridentate podand.
