Late recurrences after therapy are rare in primitive neuro-ectodermal tumor
(PNET). Most recurrences occur within the first 2 years after therapy, alt
hough a small number of recurrences may occur up to 5 years after therapy.
We present a rare case of a recurrence of PNET in a 31-year-old woman 17 ye
ars after her initial presentation. The potential biological implications o
f this late recurrence as well as responses to subsequent therapy, includin
g temozolomide, are discussed. Copyright (C) 2001 S. Karger AG, Basel.
