In the framework of the Constrained Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (
CMSSM) we discuss the impact of the recent experimental information, especi
ally from E821 Brookhaven experiment on g(mu) - 2 along with the light Higg
s boson mass bound from LEP, to the dark matter direct searches. Imposing t
hese experimental bounds, the maximum value of the spin-independent neutral
ino-nucleon cross section turns out to be of the order of 10(-8) ph for la
rge values of tan beta and low M-1/2, m(0). The effect of the recent experi
mental bounds is to decrease the maximum value of the cross section by abou
t an order of magnitude, demanding the analogous sensitivity from the direc
t dark matter detection experiments. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science BN. AU right
