The possibility of separating, with the aid of photoemulsion, charnels of t
he reaction C-12(gamma, n(3)He)2 alpha that involve the formation of Be-7 a
nd Be-8 intermediate nuclei in excited states is studied. The experimental
energy distributions of these nuclei are obtained. The relative yields from
