Si. Fadeev et al., CHEMICAL-MODEL OF A LIQUID-PHASE CLAUS REACTION - TRANSIENT AND STEADY-STATES, Theoretical foundations of chemical engineering, 31(4), 1997, pp. 398-404
A ''chemical'' absorbent-solution model based on the studies of mechan
ism and kinetics of a liquid-phase Claus reaction is proposed to descr
ibe the transient states in the formation of a steady-state chemical c
omposition of the solution. Equations are derived to describe the stea
dy-state compositions as functions of the initial concentrations of bu
ffer-solution components, the concentration of impurities in the enter
ing gas, and other parameters. The existence, uniqueness, and stabilit
y of steady states are studied.
