Nz. Mamardashvili et al., Influence of the chemical modification of porphyrins on their coordinationand acid-base properties, RUSS J G CH, 71(5), 2001, pp. 797-802
For 3,7,13,17-tetramethyl-2,8,12,18-tetrabutylporphyrin, 5,15-diphenyl-3,7,
13,17-tetramethyl-2,8,12,18-tetrabutylporphyrin, and the cyclophane dimer i
n which the monomeric porphyrin fragments are bound via meta positions of t
he benzene rings with two -O(CH2)(3)O- bridges, the kinetics of complexatio
n with copper(II) acetate in acetonitrile and the base ionization in the pr
esence of perchloric acid were studied. The reactivity of these compounds i
n complexation with the metal cation in acetonitrile correlates with their
basicity.
